Bio
Angie Head is a singer/songwriter/musician who has, in her time in Washington, DC, gained the attention and praise of those who admire inspiring talent. She is a skillful acoustic guitarist with a strong, sweet, soul-stirring voice.
In her day job, Angie works for an educational non-profit group. She is also a skillful teacher and practitioner of the martial arts. But her true love and passion is music.
A graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Ethnomusicology (the study of music on the context of cultures), Angie frequently performed in the many coffeehouses and cultural events in the Ann Arbor area.
Since moving to Washington, DC, she has continued to hone her skils as a performer. Angie has performed at the Food for Thought cafe, the Capital Pride Festival, the Sister Summerfest event, Black Pride, the National Organisation of Women Lesbian Summit, the National Advocacy Coalition conference, and the Roit on the Roof at Lammas Bookstore where the Washington Blade described Angie’s performance as “sweet justice to songs by artists like Tracy Chapman and original pens.”
More recently, Angie has played at Busboys and Poets and the Charm City Kitty Club. Last December, she was the featured performer for SWERV Magazine’s launch party and was profiled in its subsequent issue.
